Haolan Xu

Hi! I'm currently a visiting scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, working with Prof. Xiaoming Liu. Previously, I was a visiting student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, working with Prof. Narendra Ahuja. Before that, I received my M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Florida, working with Prof. Jorg Peters, and my Bachelor's degree from Sichuan University.

My research lies in 4D Computer Vision, with a particular focus on digital humans. I'm broadly interested in human motion modeling — how the human body is shaped, how it moves, what its motion means, and how it interacts with the physical world. Currently, I focus on generating expressive human motion directly from audio.

Outside of work, I love traveling, the NBA, and F1.
